Let me start this post by saying that I’ve always wanted to write and share my experience about skull tattoos. My journey of self-growth started 5 years ago when I decided it was time to start a new chapter in my creative life. The result is a lifeling passion for alternative art, tattoo and skulls.
Skull tattoos are everywhere, they may very well be the most popular type of tattoos in the world. While I love realistic looking skulls, there’s something about an artist taking artistic liberties while creating a skull tattoo that really impresses me. Some artistic skull tattoos manage to morph skulls into different objects, make the skulls appear 3D, and make you see skulls when you thought you were looking at something else.
My intense fascination with skeletons, skulls and bones led me to discover that tattoo and tattoo artists have always been fond of dark imagery in their work. Myself included.
Skulls can be beautiful but they can also be terrifying, it all depends on what light they are tattooed in. Check out some of my favorite skull tattoos by some of the best tattoo artists in the world. Enjoy.
P.S: once you’ve done your first skull, I know that you would want more.
